It was called ‘Magic Grandad’ and was about a Grandad taking his grandchildren back in time to meet important people from history. In my episode, he takes them back to meet me! I play the Reverand David Railton, the man credited with coming up with the idea for the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior in Westminster Abbey.

It was filmed in Westminster Abbey and at the Lichfield family pile in Staffordshire - Shugborough.

Everyone was lovely, the job was fun, Sam Kelly (who plays the Grandad) was a gent to work with and the kids were a blast!

It should be on BBC2 sometime in April or May, stay tuned for more updates!

It’s been a wild ride and great fun! I’ve got 2 or 3 more days filming before I’m done for Series 1 (no word yet on whether S2 will happen, or if they’ll want me back...fingers crossed).

I went to a press conference in Warsaw a couple of weeks ago. It was mad! There were photographers everywhere and I was pretty bowled over by it all.

What a few days I have had!!


Monday 22nd July - Audition for a TV show.

Mon to Sat - Perform at the Lowry Theatre (1800 seats!!) in Salford Quays, Manchester.

Thurs evening - Producer calls to say “Sorry the show is not going to the West End”. No big surprise there, we had pretty much all figured that out by now, but still a little sad to hear.

Fri lunchtime - Agent calls to tell me that I got the TV job.

Fri afternoon - In a daze. Have a drink.

Fri night/ Sat morning - can’t sleep a wink.

Sat night - Last performance of Crown Matrimonial. I manage to put the tea trolley in the right place for once and Patricia seems happy! Come off stage at 10.20pm

Sat 11pm get in my car (dragged Rufus with me to keep me awake) and drive to London.

Sun morning 3.30am - arrive back at flat. Unpack. Pack. Find passport.

Sun 4.30am - Taxi take me to Heathrow.

Sun 6.50am - Fly to Warsaw. Catch maybe 10mins sleep on plane.

Sun 11am - Arrive at TV studios in Warsaw. Meet director (Greg), actor (Pzemek) and 2 actresses (Marieta and Roxanna). 5 mins of small talk, then 3 HOURS OF SALSA DANCE REHEARSAL.

Sun 2.30pm - Arrive at hotel. Reckon I have slept for around 10 mins in 78 hours. Try and stay awake so as not to wake up at 3am and then be tired for filming in the afternoon.

Sun 8pm - Give up staying awake.

Mon 9am - Wake, shower, breakfast, taxi, film ALL DAY.

Mon 7pm - Back to hotel. Go to German restaurant next door. Bad schnitzel.

Tues 8am - Fly back to Blighty.

The play is 'Crown Matrimonial' and is all about Edward VII, Mrs Simpson and his abdication. Patricia Routledge (Mrs Bucket from BBC sitcom ‘Keeping Up Appearances) will be playing Queen Mary. I'll be playing the minute role of the Footman, as well as understudying 3 bigger roles.

Rehearsals start in 2 days...so probably some updates in the coming weeks.

I have a new agent - or to be more accurate, I now have 35 new agents!! I am with Actorum, a co-op agency, and all 36 members act as agents for each other.

But there is no rest for a busy hard-working actor like Dominic. Tomorrow he will start the last 4 days of the very lengthy Badinage shoot. The poets are gathering for one last hurrah!! Hopefully this will be it for Badinage and we will all be able to see a finished version sometime early next year.

...well, The Last Nightingale is now the play that was...and Much Ado About Nothing is the next big thing.

Nightingale was a success, we all had a good time and sadly I can no longer hear some of the wonderful comments I got know oh so well during the run - "Can I just cut it?", "What's the next f*****g scene?", "I think I'll walk home over Hamstead Heath tonight" and the every day classic "Is he gay?"

Lady Godiva is now finished, I saw a screening of it a couple of weeks ago, and it was great. Fingers crossed it will appear on our cinema screens at the end of the year. Keep your eyes and ears peeled.

There may be some other career developments bubbling under the surface, and there may well be some news soon, but for now it must remain hush hush so I don't jinx it!!

Poets

Felix (my character in Badinage) was a poet and I have just been cast in a play all about the life of John Keats...possibly England's most famous poet! I am playing his brother Thomas Keats.

The show is on at Upstairs At The Gatehouse in Highgate for 2 weeks from 31/3/07 to 14/4/07

The upshot of this is that my showreel is looking pretty good now. There are all new versions here, and a new DVD for anyone who would like a copy. I'll be sending off a few to to some casting directors, so hopefully I'll be getting some wonderful jobs soon....!

I've cut in a couple of scenes into my showreel and hence have updated my showreel page accordingly.

There is a slim possibility that I will be able to get some Badinage footage before the end of the year, so fingers-crossed! Lady Godiva isn't finished yet, but I am confident I'll get my footage early next year; as for WOW!, I doubt I'll ever see it...

After several months of not doing any acting work (not through want of trying!), I have just been offered 3 jobs in the space of two days.

So...if you want to come down to the White Bear Theatre (Kennington) between September 5th and 25th, you will be able to see Dominic as 'Hugh' in a new play by Alastair Trevill called 'LODGERS'.

I will be filming a feature film for Celestial Pictures between mid September and November called 'Badinage' - a tale of 5 poets in and artless world; directed by Oliver Harrrison.

I was asked to re-join Theatre in Trust, with their production of Alan Bennet's 'Habeus Corpus' (after a successful production of 'Oh Clarence!' last year).
